Questioning much of the theology you hear today? Why does a significant amount of the teaching heard today not sound like the teaching of Jesus, the Apostles and Prophets?

Does the gospel change or evolve? Does man continue to have the same problem (sin)? Sermons today may be up beat, related to current events and even have some scripture reference, however the message still lacks the whole counsel of God.
God’s ministers are called to be faithful to God above all for “friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4). The apostle Paul said that he did not hesitate to proclaim the whole counsel (will) of God to his audience. Therefore he was able to say he was innocent of their blood (guilt)(Acts 20:26-27).
In spite of the lack of sound biblical teaching in many Christian churches Christianity appears to be gaining widespread acceptance with more people professing to be Christians than ever before. At the same time that many are biblically illiterate and hostile toward the whole counsel (Truth) of God. How? Does one have to believe the gospel as proclaimed in the Bible to truly be regenerated, born again, saved, be a Christian? Jesus asked the Father to “Sanctify them by the Truth…” for the Father’s Word is Truth (John 17:17 NIV). How can people be hostile toward the One who has regenerated, saved them and is sanctifying them? That is, unless He has not.
Is it possible to get a new interpretation of what the Holy Spirit has already revealed to us? Paul warned the church at Galatia about a new gospel, explanation, or interpretation saying, “But even if we (ministers, apostles, prophets) or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!” (Gal. 1:8 NIV)
Paul is saying that it is only one gospel, one interpretation of the gospel and no matter how entertaining, eloquent or scholarly a teacher or preacher may be if he is not teaching what Scripture is teaching than he is under a curse (do not accept him or his teaching). So-called new interpretations are nothing new at all, for men continue to only repackage old errors. An example of this can be seen in the devil reinterpreting what God said in the third chapter of Genesis, “Did God actually say…?” (Genesis 3:1 ESV)
Fundamental doctrines revealed in scripture and upheld by the Church through the centuries continue to be under attack. This time however the attack is from inside the church, by those who claim to be orthodox Christians, men claiming to hold to a higher criticism. In this criticism these men have made themselves judges of the Bible rather than allowing the Bible to judge and teach them.
Even in Christian environments theories like Theistic Evolution have taken root. In an attempt to harmonize the Bible with modern scientific theories many Christians adopted this view in contradiction of clear Biblical teaching. Theistic Evolution is no less than a compromise on behalf of Christians. There will always be a push to have Believers compromise their convictions to be compatible with worldly wisdom and human reasoning.
The reality is that many of our leaders have failed to preach the Word and realize the day is here when men won’t tolerate sound doctrine. Instead leaders are more concerned with the comforts and opinions of the world and being accepted. The consumer strategy is prevalent in the church, leaders are often more concerned with entertainment and what God can give them in the here and now rather what He has already done for us, which has eternal value. Sadly beliefs and values are developed from emotionally driven opinions, which are often exhorted above the truth rather than being derived from the Truth (God’s Word).
