Think! Every Author has an intended message/purpose!

But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.
Matthew 22:29
1) In order for Jesus to say that the Sadducees were wrong there had to be a right. Jesus did not simply just say that they were wrong but went on to explain why #1 they did not know the Scriptures. Jesus applies this in the argument as the measure, or rule of authority. Therefore the scriptures have to be giving specific instructions, even for daily living that we can live by:
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Matthew 4:4 [ESV]
2) “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15 [ESV] What is Jesus’s God’s commands? His commands have to be specific! His commandments can not be saying you must and at the same time you must not!
3) If Scripture [the Bible] is not specific do we have to: confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in ours heart that God raised him from the dead, and we will be saved? [Roman 10:9] Well God said so in His Holy Word!
