For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

So our battle is with false belief systems…. Lies from the enemy… It is people’s unbelief that will essentially damn them. Hence, every person has beliefs, some beliefs are wrong and they have eternal consequences as oppose to truth. I know this is politically incorrect to say that someones beliefs are wrong in a Postmodern culture but this is the very thing that people need, the Truth, (John 14:6).
Believers needed to be reminded time and time again that “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (Eph. 6:12 NLT)
Believers should live in the conscience reality that there are spiritual powers and spiritual realities. The strongholds mentioned above in Second Corinthians has to deal with false beliefs that are doctrines of demons as Paul writes in First Timothy 4:1. These beliefs sole purpose is to blur the truth, to distract people so that they miss the Grace of God that is found only in Jesus Christ!
The reality that must be grasped is that God has called all men and women to repent of their sins and put all of their faith in Jesus! By doing so the Bible tells us that Jesus righteousness is transferred over to us by faith (Romans 5:9; 2 Corinthians 5:21) and that His perfect sacrifice on the cross pays for our sin (Romans 6:23)!
